{"id":10199,"date":"2025-03-29T09:48:53","date_gmt":"2025-03-29T09:48:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.garden-tricks.top\/?p=10199"},"modified":"2025-03-29T09:48:54","modified_gmt":"2025-03-29T09:48:54","slug":"roasted-beef-tenderloin-with-french-onion-au-jus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.garden-tricks.top\/?p=10199","title":{"rendered":"Roasted Beef Tenderloin with French Onion Au Jus"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Roasted Beef Tenderloin with French Onion Au Jus<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>For the Beef Tenderloin:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1 (4-5 pound) beef tenderloin, trimmed<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2 tablespoons olive oil<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">4 cloves garlic, minced<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2 tablespoons fresh thyme leaves<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kosher salt and black pepper<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2 cups beef broth<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1 cup water<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>For the French Onion Au Jus:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">4 tablespoons butter<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2 large yellow onions, thinly sliced<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2 cloves garlic, minced<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1 teaspoon brown sugar<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2 cups beef broth<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kosher salt and black pepper<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Instructions:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Remove the beef tenderloin from the fridge 1-2 hours before roasting to bring it to room temperature. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Preheat your oven to 475\u00b0F (245\u00b0C).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rub the beef with olive oil, minced garlic, thyme leaves, and generously season with kosher salt and black pepper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Sear the Beef:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a large oven-safe skillet, heat a bit of olive oil over high heat. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Add the beef tenderloin and sear on all sides until browned, about 2-3 minutes per side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Roast the Beef:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Transfer the skillet with the beef tenderloin to the preheated oven. Roast until the internal temperature reaches 120-125\u00b0F (49-52\u00b0C) for medium-rare, approximately 25-40 minutes, depending on the size of the roast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Remove from the oven, transfer the beef to a cutting board, cover with foil, and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Prepare the French Onion Au Jus:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While the beef rests, melt the butter in the same skillet over medium-high heat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> Add the sliced onions, thyme, and garlic. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the onions are caramelized, about 15 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Add the brown sugar and Worcestershire sauce, stirring to combine, and simmer until reduced by half.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Add the beef broth, and bring to a simmer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Season with salt and pepper to taste. Let it cook for another 10 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Serve:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Slice the rested beef tenderloin and serve with the French onion au jus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Notes:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can prepare the beef tenderloin ahead by seasoning it and storing it in the fridge.
