{"id":10388,"date":"2025-04-04T17:26:01","date_gmt":"2025-04-04T17:26:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.garden-tricks.top\/?p=10388"},"modified":"2025-04-04T17:26:02","modified_gmt":"2025-04-04T17:26:02","slug":"pot-roast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.garden-tricks.top\/?p=10388","title":{"rendered":"Pot Roast"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>INGREDIENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1 tablespoon olive oil<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">3-4 pounds chuck roast or rump roast<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1 large onion chopped, or two small onions<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">4 carrots cut into 2\u2033 pieces<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2 stalks celery cut into 1 \u00bd\u201d pieces<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1 pound baby potatoes<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1 cup red wine<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2 cups beef broth or as needed<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">4 cloves garlic coarsely chopped<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00bd teaspoon rosemary<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00bd teaspoon thyme<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1 bay leaf<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>DIRECTIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Preheat oven to 300\u00b0F.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Season roast with salt and pepper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a large dutch oven, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil over medium-high heat. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sear the roast on each side until browned, about 4 minutes per side adding more oil if needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Arrange onions around the roast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> Combine wine, broth, rosemary, garlic, and thyme. Pour over the roast. Add bay leaf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bring just to a simmer on the stovetop over medium-high heat. Once the broth is simmering, cover and place in the oven and bake 2 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Add potatoes, carrots, and celery, and bake an additional 2 hours (for a 4lb roast) or until the roast and potatoes are fork-tender.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Discard bay leaf. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gently pull beef into large pieces with a fork or slice into thick pieces.
