We immediately tried this method of planting in our garden\u2026"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>Last spring we went to visit relatives in Belarus and brought back from there a method for planting cucumbers in the ground that my aunt, Vera Kirillovna, has been using for several decades.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.topsovety.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/473748728_472693552557275_925762496779980602_n.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7389\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>For planting, she prepares the following components:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>humus,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>wood ash,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>boiling water<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>seeds.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>The tool used in this operation is known to everyone &#8211; it is a shovel.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.topsovety.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/6s6RaFrgqtQ-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7391\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Digs a small bed 2 m long and 60\u201370 cm wide.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In it, he makes holes in a checkerboard pattern &#8220;through the cell&#8221;: one, then two and one again. The holes should be at a distance of 60 cm from each other. The soil on our site is heavy, loam, so fertilizers play a big role.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We prepare each hole as follows: we make a 10 cm deep hole, put a handful of humus, two spoons of ash, a handful of soil down and mix it all.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then pour boiling water over this mass, leave for 5-10 minutes and throw in 5-7 cucumber seeds.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Afterwards, we cover the seeds with soil and do not water them anymore.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If cold nights are expected, the hole can be covered with film and removed in the morning.
