It is essentially a superstition or popular belief, found extensively in many cities and civilizations. It is, in fact, a deeply rooted and common belief in a wide variety of Hispanic-American and Mediterranean cultures.
According to this belief, a person is capable of causing harm, illness, and misfortune to another simply by looking at them. Therefore, when we are faced with that damaged or affected part, it is said that “the individual is staring, with a fixed gaze, or that they have been given the evil eye.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
