She and her boyfriend, Ivan, recently took a train trip to visit friends and then returned on the same train. The trip had been planned in advance, so they bought tickets for upper and lower berths in a compartment so as not to share a table. However, this didn&#8217;t protect them from surprises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The journey out of the way was uneventful\u2014the compartment with Alyona and Ivan was filled with modest students. But the return journey proved a real challenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jemchyjinka.online\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/scale_1200-20-500x375.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-66759\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As they boarded the train on the way back, they found themselves seated next to an elderly woman and her pregnant daughter. The mother, without asking, had already made up the bed on the bottom bunk, which belonged to Alyona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Noticing their arrival, the woman immediately declared, &#8220;You&#8217;re young, give me the bottom bunk. I&#8217;m older. My daughter is pregnant, and it&#8217;s awkward for her to climb up to the top bunk.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alyona calmly replied that she had bought a lower berth, which was more expensive, and had no intention of giving up her seat. The woman, about 60 years old, looked strong and confident, not at all like a frail old woman. Her face contorted with indignation, and she began to complain that young people today had no respect for their elders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jemchyjinka.online\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/scale_1200-2-1-500x500.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-66760\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then the neighbor turned up Nadezhda Kadysheva&#8217;s music on her phone, full blast, without headphones. When Alyona asked her to turn it down, the woman claimed she&#8217;d forgotten her headphones at home. Unwilling to listen to someone else&#8217;s music, the couple put on their own headphones and played something they liked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Afterwards, the mother and daughter decided to have dinner. They filled the table with containers of homemade food: cutlets, eggs, potatoes, and fish pies. The smell of fish was so strong that Alyona began to feel dizzy. Deciding to escape the aromas and noise, the couple went to the dining car, where they spent several hours in the company of other passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When they returned, they found their neighbors asleep. But at 7 a.m. the next morning, they were awakened by a noise. It turned out that an elderly woman, climbing down from the top bunk, had stepped on the table and accidentally knocked over Alyona&#8217;s phone, which was lying on the table. Only a screen protector saved the phone&#8217;s screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By the way, the compartment had a special ladder for climbing up and down from the upper bunks, but the woman preferred to use the table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jemchyjinka.online\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/scale_1200-2-3-375x500.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-66761\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The neighbors woke up, turned on the light, and began eating breakfast, talking loudly. It was only 7 a.m., and they weren&#8217;t due out for another few hours. When asked to keep their voices down, the elderly woman quipped, &#8220;What, did you buy silence along with the bottom bunk?&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Breakfast ended, and the music started playing again.
