Here’s a simple, helpful method I’ve been using for years.

One of the most common winter problems that indoor plant owners face is that their leaves suddenly start to dry out at the tips.

But luckily, she has a simple solution that I decided to share with everyone who loves lush, healthy greenery at home!

The problem often stems from the fact that with the start of the heating season, indoor air humidity drops significantly, and even if plants are watered generously, their above-ground parts experience thirst.

Therefore, it is necessary to do the following:

remove flower pots from radiators and any other heating devices;

If the above action is not possible, you should place the pot in a tray with wet expanded clay, moss, or watered pebbles, which will increase the air humidity as it evaporates;

Spray the plants with water from a spray bottle every 2-3 days.

Spraying is contraindicated only for rare varieties whose leaves have a “fluffy” surface, for example, geraniums.

Water for irrigation and spraying should be lukewarm and settled or filtered. Melted water from collected, clean, freshly fallen snow can also be used. Some scientists believe the latter is extremely beneficial.

Drying of leaf tips is also often caused by an increase in room temperature.

In fact, heat of around +27-32°C is needed only by very rare varieties originating from tropical latitudes, which are generally more common in greenhouses than in home conditions.

So it turns out that the “heat” that sets in in winter in some houses turns out to be destructive for most living flowers.

Therefore, if the tips of the leaves begin to dry out, it is imperative to check the air temperature and, if it is high, move the flowers to a location that is 6-10°C cooler.

Finally, I think it’s important to clarify one more point. During the winter months, drying leaf tips can indicate a general weakening of the plant.

Moreover, this happens despite seemingly routine and good care. And the explanation is often simple: drafts, which can easily damage indoor plants!

Therefore, to prevent the appearance of dried leaves, it is very important not only to water the plants well, provide them with the proper temperature, but also protect them from drafts.

One of the most common winter problems that indoor plant owners face is that their leaves suddenly start to dry out at the tips.
