So how can you preserve their beauty for as long as possible? Learn how to root them quickly and efficiently so they take root under any circumstances. It’s not as complicated as it might first appear. But you have to start early. And, of course, don’t forget to bring along some important helpers who will take care of the root development.

You start rooting early

If you receive a bouquet of beautiful roses and would like to add them to your garden, you should start the process well in advance. It’s not worth waiting for the roses to develop properly; on the contrary, you’ll only make them stronger. Choose the two or three strongest roses and begin the rooting process immediately. But how do you do that?

Cut the end of the rose below the beehive at 45°C,

remove the flower

prepare a suitable root stimulator.

Always work with only very sharp scissors or a knife; this is the only way to break the mesh cleanly and not crush it. And that’s definitely desirable with this rooting method. After that, all you need is a helpful assistant.

Rooting roses with the help of a banana.

Place a piece of banana peel over the cut and set the cut aside. Meanwhile, prepare a mini pot for rooting (you’ll need one for each rose). Simply cut a PET bottle in half and fill the bottom half with soil. Plant the rose and banana in it, cover with the other half of the bottle, and water.

You’ll also need a black plastic bag to pull the rose out of the ground for success. Leave it in this state for two months, watering it only when necessary. After this time, enough roots should have formed for your new garden ornament to take root easily. Then plant it outdoors only in the spring, after the frost has passed. Keep it covered until at least June.

Roses are rightly called queens among flowers.
