Even a novice amateur gardener can handle the procedure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Correcting a stretched geranium<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first and most important thing to do with an overgrown pelargonium is&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>to prune it<\/em>&nbsp;. Use only sharp, disinfected tools! Failure to do so can introduce infection.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.topsovety.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/1710416646_4f9eb1def4082581cd25dad763265869.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-19628\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Geraniums should be cut back to&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>three<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;buds above the ground. The cut top can also be rooted!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\"><strong>Helpful tip! <\/strong><strong>Don't<\/strong> water your pelargonium \nfor <strong>three days<\/strong> before pruning ! \nThis will prevent the wound from leaking sap. \nIt will heal quickly and easily!<strong><\/strong><\/pre>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.topsovety.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/1710416646_49459d7043f603f725b3b5c36b0601cc.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-19627\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Literally&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>3-4 weeks<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;after pruning, the side shoots will begin to grow vigorously. The bush will fluff up and be transformed!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In another month, the cut will no longer be visible: the pelargonium will be so overgrown with new lateral leaves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\"><strong>Please note!<\/strong> \nAfter pruning, water the geranium <strong>half as much as possible<\/strong> , \nas the plant's foliage has diminished. \nIncrease watering once the bush grows.<\/pre>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.topsovety.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/1710416647_e34df8929096be292010d275c7c384cc.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-19625\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to make pelargonium bloom like a cap?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pruning is necessary to grow a large, lush, green bush. If you want your pelargonium&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>to bloom like a crown<\/em>&nbsp;&nbsp;(like a gift bouquet), then use a slightly different procedure.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.topsovety.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/1710416647_c725b299d3479e5edfc3292c3d1e4592.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-19626\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When the pelargonium has reached about&nbsp;<strong>&nbsp;5-7 cm<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;in height, break off&nbsp;<strong>&nbsp;2-3<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;of the longest&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>upper<\/em>&nbsp;&nbsp;leaves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>There should be at least five<\/strong>&nbsp;leaves left on the plant&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;.
