In such conditions the seeds germinate faster, and the greens remain tender and juicy longer. The plants less often prematurely shoot flower stalks, so the leaf harvest will be significantly larger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Natural helper for the garden<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dill not only decorates the beds. Its aroma attracts beneficial insects that help restrain the spread of some pests. If you sow it between cucumbers, cabbage or carrots, the garden becomes more balanced, and the plants feel better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Perfect for canning<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is precisely August that is the time for active homemade preparations. July sowing will allow you to have fresh aromatic umbrellas and greens at hand exactly when they are most needed for pickling cucumbers, tomatoes, zucchini and pattypan squash. You won\u2019t have to look for dill at the market or use already dried stems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>How to sow correctly<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Moisten the bed well before sowing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bury the seeds to a depth of approximately 1\u20132 cm.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Leave 15\u201320 cm between rows.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the weather is dry, keep the soil moist for the first few days.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first tender sprigs will appear already after a few days, and soon you will have fresh greens when the spring dill has long lost its quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One small sowing at the end of July \u2014 and fresh greens will last until autumn itself, and all the vegetables for canning will get exactly that aroma without which it is hard to imagine real homemade preparations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>While some think the season is already ending, experienced gardeners pick up dill seeds again.
