But do not rush to buy a new one \u2014 in most cases it can be easily brought back to order with what you already have at home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Baking soda.<\/strong> Mix a teaspoon of baking soda with a few drops of water until you get a thick paste. Apply it to the cold soleplate of the iron, gently rub with a soft cloth, and then wipe with a damp napkin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Table vinegar.<\/strong> If there is limescale or light carbon deposits on the soleplate, moisten a cloth with warm vinegar and thoroughly wipe the surface. For stubborn dirt, leave the moistened cloth for a few minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Toothpaste.<\/strong> Ordinary white paste without granules copes excellently with a thin layer of carbon deposits. Apply it to the cold soleplate, gently rub with a sponge and rinse off the remains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Citric acid.<\/strong> If the iron has a steaming function, dissolve a teaspoon of citric acid in a glass of warm water, pour it into the reservoir, turn on the steam, and then rinse several times with clean water. This will help clean the internal channels from scale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What you should not do:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Do not use metal brushes or sandpaper;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do not scratch the soleplate with a knife or other sharp objects;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do not use aggressive chemical agents if the manufacturer does not recommend it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After cleaning, be sure to iron an old cotton fabric.
