This Does Not Always Mean Disease. Often the Plant Itself Gives a Signal That It Lacks Proper Care. If You Understand the Cause in Time, the Tomatoes Will Quickly Recover and Continue to Delight with the Harvest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Heat and lack of moisture<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In strong heat the leaves often curl upward to reduce moisture evaporation. This is a natural protective reaction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What to do:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>water less often, but abundantly;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>moisten the soil early in the morning or in the evening;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>mulch the bed with mown grass or straw so that the ground remains moist longer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Excess water<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the soil is constantly wet, the roots lack air. Because of this the leaves also start to deform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What to do:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>let the soil dry a little;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>do not water \u201caccording to the schedule\u201d, but orient yourself by the state of the ground;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ensure good drainage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Mistakes with feeding<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Excess nitrogen makes the bush very lush, but the leaves start to curl, and there are fewer fruits. Also the problem can be caused by a lack of potassium or calcium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What to do:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>temporarily stop nitrogen fertilizers;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>use complex feedings with potassium and microelements;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>follow the recommended doses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Too active pinching (removing suckers)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you remove many leaves and suckers at once, the plant experiences strong stress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What to do:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>form the bush gradually;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>do not remove more than 2\u20133 large leaves at one time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Pests<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Aphids, whitefly or spider mite suck juices from young leaves, because of which they curl and weaken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What to do:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>regularly examine the underside of the leaves;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>wash off the pests with water or use safe biological means;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>timely remove strongly damaged parts of the plant.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>When there is no need to worry<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If only a few lower leaves have curled after the heat, and the top is green, the flowers are not falling off and the fruits are growing \u2014 most likely this is a temporary reaction. After normalizing watering and the weather the bush will quickly recover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The main rule is not to treat at random. First find the cause, and only then change the care.
