In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt.

Slowly add boiling water, stirring constantly with a fork or dough whisk, until a shaggy dough forms. The amount of boiling water you’ll need will depend on the specific flour you use. Add just enough water to create a soft, pliable dough that’s not sticky.

Tip: You may need to add a little bit of flour or water to get the right consistency.

Knead the dough. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-10 minutes, or until the dough is smooth and elastic.

Add a little more flour if the dough is too sticky.

Rest the dough. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and let it rest at room temperature for 15-20 minutes.

Make the filling. While the dough is resting, heat the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the ground beef, salt, and pepper and cook until the beef is browned and cooked through. Drain any excess grease.

Stir in the water. Stir in the water and bring to a simmer. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, or until the water has evaporated. Remove from the heat and let the filling cool slightly.

Assemble the turnovers. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Roll out the dough. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to a thickness of about 1/8 inch (3 millimeters). Cut the dough into circles using a large round cookie cutter or a drinking glass.

Fill and fold the turnovers. Place a spoonful of the ground beef filling in the center of each dough circle. Fold the dough over the filling to form a half-moon shape. Pinch the edges to seal the turnovers closed.

Bake the turnovers. Arrange the turnovers on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops of the turnovers with melted butter or egg wash (optional). Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the turnovers are golden brown and cooked through.

Serve. Let the turnovers cool slightly before serving. Garnish with dill, sour cream, and garlic cloves, if desired.

Enjoy!

Savory Ground Beef Turnovers Ingredients: For the dough: 500 grams wheat flour 1/2 teaspoon salt Boiling water 1-2 tablespoons vegetable oil For the filling: 800 grams ground beef 1/2 teaspoon […]

[4

post-7763","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-recipe
["GET
