Poppy seed cake, just the way we like it, with lots of fillings

As I said, this is a small portion (for two people), if you want to make more, it is worth baking a double quantity, because it is very delicious and it runs out quickly. The amount of filling depends on how poppy you like it. In our case, the more filling there is, the better they like it.

Ingredients:

  • 25 dkg flour,
  • 1/2 tablespoon fat,
  • 1 egg,
  • half a sachet of powdered yeast,
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar,
  • a little salt.

Filling:

  • poppy seeds to taste,
  • sugar,
  • vanilla sugar,
  • grated lemon peel,
  • hot milk

Preparation:

To make soft yeast dough. When it has doubled in size, I make 2 loaves, (if you want a larger size, leave them whole), roll them out very thinly and put the filling in them, roll them up tightly, place them in a row on a baking sheet lined with baking paper, then let them rise again. I brush them with egg yolk and bake until done.

Filling: Poppy seeds to taste, sugar, vanilla sugar, grated lemon zest, then pour a small amount of hot milk over it and let it stand for 5 minutes. It should not be liquid, it should have a thick, pasty consistency. I hope I was able to help.
