I love mixing various fruits and berries with aromatic herbs to create unique drinks. This adds a new flavor to ordinary compotes.

Gooseberry Mojito compote has recently gained popularity due to its unique flavor. If you make it for the winter with various toppings, it’s sure to become a favorite. How about this idea?
This drink is refreshing, thirst-quenching and perfect for summer days.
Ingredients:
- Gooseberries – 400 g
- Sugar – 300 g
- Lemon – 2-3 slices
- Mint – 2-3 sprigs
Preparation:
Rinse the gooseberries under cold water.
- Place the gooseberries in a colander to drain off excess water.
Prepare the jars.
- Pour boiling water over clean jars.

Filling the jars:
- Place green gooseberries in a jar.
- Add lemon slices and mint sprigs.
- For a richer flavor, use dark mint.
Add sugar.
- The classic version calls for adding 250 grams of sugar per 3-liter jar, but you can vary the amount depending on the sweetness of the gooseberries. Avoid using less, otherwise the compote will be bland.
Pour boiling water over it.
- Fill the jar with boiling water and immediately seal it with a clean lid (pre-boiled).
Processing of jars:
- Turn the jar on its side and roll it lightly on the table until the sugar dissolves completely.
- Then turn the jar upside down on the lid and cover with a blanket until it cools completely.
Storage and options:
- Compote prepared for the winter keeps well at room temperature.
- Traditionally, gooseberries and mint are added to the Mojito, but can be replaced with lemon balm or basil for a new flavor accent.
- Make a cocktail from red or green gooseberries – it will turn out incredibly delicious.
