Crispy Homemade Potato Sticks

Ingredients:
  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and cut into thin sticks
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped parsley (optional)
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Ketchup or any dipping sauce of your choice
Instructions:
  1. Prepare the Potato Sticks:Peel and cut the potatoes into thin sticks.
Place the potato sticks in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for 15-20 minutes to remove excess starch.
Drain the potato sticks and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel or paper towels.
  2. Coat the Potato Sticks:In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
Add the potato sticks to the bowl and toss them until they are evenly coated with the flour mixture.
If using parsley, add it to the mixture and toss to coat the potato sticks.
  3. Fry the Potato Sticks:Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or pot over medium-high heat.
Once the oil is hot (around 350°F or 180°C), carefully add a batch of coated potato sticks to the oil.
Fry the potato sticks in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan. Fry until they are golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes per batch.
Use a slotted spoon to remove the fried potato sticks from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.
  4. Serve:Serve the crispy potato sticks hot with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ketchup or aioli.
Enjoy these delicious homemade potato sticks as a snack or side dish.

These crispy homemade potato sticks are perfect for satisfying your craving for fries and are a great addition to any meal. Enjoy!
