Tomatoes with carrot tops for the winter – the aromatic secret of homemade preparations

Ingredients for 1 liter of marinade:

  • salt – 1 tablespoon without a slide
  • sugar – 4 tablespoons with a small slide
  • vinegar 9% – 4 tbsp. spoons
  • carrot tops – a few sprigs
  • tomatoes – how many will fit in the jar
  • garlic – 2–3 cloves
  • bay leaf – 1 piece
  • black pepper and allspice peas – 3–5 pcs.

Preparation:

  1. Thoroughly sterilize the jars (liter jars) and boil the lids.
  2. Place the tops, garlic cloves, bay leaf, and peppercorns on the bottom.
  3. Stack the tomatoes tightly, alternating large and small ones. Add a few more tops in the middle.
  4. Pour boiling water over, cover with a lid for 10 minutes, then drain the water.
  5. Prepare the marinade: add salt and sugar to the water, bring to a boil, and finally add the vinegar.
  6. Pour the hot marinade into the jars, tighten with a wrench. Turn them upside down and check for tightness.
  7. Wrap it in a blanket and leave it until it cools completely.

In winter, you open a jar and the aroma of summer returns to the table 🌿🍅
