Have you ever thought about making a flavored oil at home at zero cost? Maybe hearing these words will make you think of a complex practice and you will want to give up but don’t!
The procedure and its preparation are really easy!
INGREDIENTS:
- 260ml extra virgin olive oil
- 120g of flavourings of our choice
- (rosemary and bay leaves)
PREPARATION:
- First, we wash our aromatic herbs thoroughly under running water. Then we let them dry completely. We opted for rosemary and bay leaves but you can prefer any type of flavor depending on your taste.
- Once dry, we put a saucepan on the heat and pour in our extra virgin olive oil (it can also be prepared with seed oil if we want a less full-bodied consistency).
- Now we add our herbs to the pan and cook on low heat for about 2 minutes.
- After the necessary time, we remove the sprigs of herbs and leave only the leaves. At this point we transfer everything into the blender and give it a good blend. We continue like this until we have created a fairly homogeneous liquid.
- Now take a bowl with a fine mesh strainer and pour the liquid into it. Now take an old reusable piping bag and block the end with a clothespin. Pour the oil in and let it rest for 24 hours so that all the residues will settle to the bottom.
- After the necessary time, we empty the piping bag into a glass and remove the residue directly into the sink by removing the clip. We filter our oil once more and that’s it.
