Ingredients (for 4 servings)
200 ml of fresh whipping cream (cold from the fridge)
2 tablespoons of instant coffee
80 g of icing sugar
100 ml of cold water
Bitter cocoa or coffee beans for decoration (optional)
Step by step preparation
Dissolve the instant coffee in cold water and add the powdered sugar.
Stir until completely dissolved.
In a bowl, pour the cold cream and whip it with an electric whisk until it becomes soft.
Gradually add the coffee mixture to the cream, continuing to whip until the mixture becomes creamy and frothy .
Pour the spumone into cups or glasses and leave to rest in the fridge for at least 1 hour .
Before serving, you can decorate with bitter cocoa, chocolate chips or coffee beans .
Delicious variations
Coffee and chocolate spumone : add dark chocolate chips to the mixture.
Coffee mousse without cream : use whipped egg whites for a lighter (but less creamy) version.
Alcoholic Coffee Spumone : Add a spoonful of coffee liqueur or amaretto for an extra kick.
