  • 3 apples (approx. 700 g), peeled and diced
  • 3 large eggs
  • 180 ml milk
  • 150g sugar
  • a pinch of salt
  • 300 g white flour
  • 80 g melted butter
  • 10 g baking powder
  • 1 sachet of vanilla sugar
  • grated zest of 1 lemon
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • cinnamon — to taste

Preparation method:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (top and bottom).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the eggs, milk, sugar, salt, and vanilla sugar. Add the melted butter and mix well.
  3. Incorporate the flour mixed with baking powder until you get a smooth dough, without lumps.
  4. Add the chopped apples, cinnamon, grated zest, and lemon juice. Mix gently.
  5. Pour the mixture into a tray lined with baking paper.
  6. Bake for 40–45 minutes, until the cake is golden brown on top.
  7. Let it cool for a few minutes, then cut it into pieces.

Tip: Before serving, sprinkle with powdered sugar. It’s also great with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
