Ingredients:
- 3 apples (approx. 700 g), peeled and diced
- 3 large eggs
- 180 ml milk
- 150g sugar
- a pinch of salt
- 300 g white flour
- 80 g melted butter
- 10 g baking powder
- 1 sachet of vanilla sugar
- grated zest of 1 lemon
- juice of 1 lemon
- cinnamon — to taste
Preparation method:
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (top and bottom).
- In a large bowl, mix the eggs, milk, sugar, salt, and vanilla sugar. Add the melted butter and mix well.
- Incorporate the flour mixed with baking powder until you get a smooth dough, without lumps.
- Add the chopped apples, cinnamon, grated zest, and lemon juice. Mix gently.
- Pour the mixture into a tray lined with baking paper.
- Bake for 40–45 minutes, until the cake is golden brown on top.
- Let it cool for a few minutes, then cut it into pieces.
Tip: Before serving, sprinkle with powdered sugar. It’s also great with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
