How do we properly care for orchids?

To keep orchids  vigorous  and  always blooming , we need to provide them with the right conditions. If we care for them correctly, we can enjoy them  for years to come!

When should the orchid be transplanted?

Once a year!  If the roots are too crowded and are sticking out of the pot, the orchid can no longer absorb enough nutrients and water.  Transplanting helps it bloom again!

Warning!  Use  well-sharpened and disinfected scissors  – orchids are susceptible to diseases, and dirty tools can promote the development of infections.

How often do we water orchids?

Golden rule:  Water the orchid  only when the substrate is almost dry!

Tip:  If you want to maintain optimal humidity, lightly spray the plant with water, but  avoid leaving drops on the leaves  – this can cause rot!

Where should the orchid be placed?

Orchids love light, but not direct sun!  The best place? A  bright windowsill , but protected from the strong rays of the sun.

Did you know?  Each species of orchid has different needs, so it’s a good idea to learn about the type you have!

 Which substrate is most suitable?

In nature, orchids grow on trees or rocks, so they need an  aerated substrate !

Use  special orchid compost , based on  tree bark , which provides excellent drainage.

With these simple tips, your orchids will bloom spectacularly and beautify your home for years to come!
