Cleaning the toilet is one of the most important bathroom tasks, but we often limit ourselves to cleaning and disinfecting the exterior surfaces. However, we forget about an area that’s also prone to dirt, mold, and limescale buildup: the toilet tank.
Because it’s not easily visible, we tend to forget about this important part of the toilet. Yet a clean and disinfected toilet tank not only helps prevent and avoid unpleasant odors, but it also works better and saves water.
In this article, we’ll show you a wonderful trick for cleaning your toilet tank quickly and without using chemicals. You’ll need:
- gloves
- new toilet brush
- sponge
- white vinegar
Empty the toilet tank completely and turn off the water valve to prevent it from filling up again.
Pour half a bottle of vinegar into a spray bottle and spray it over the entire inside surface of the toilet. Let it sit for a couple of hours to maximize its cleaning effect.
Then use the sponge to remove all the dirt, then use the toilet brush to make sure you remove all the limescale and mold.
Once all the dirt has been removed, rinse and open the water valve to refill the tank.
Now that you know how to clean the toilet cistern, don’t wait any longer and apply the trick described above to eliminate bad odors and make the entire toilet system perform better.
