He discovered a decapitated body in a car in a forest in Montboye, located in southwestern France.
A tourist made a horrific discovery in the south of the Charente department, namely in the forests of the commune of Montboye, as reported by Charente Libre on Monday, July 31, 2023.
On Sunday, July 23, 2023, in the afternoon, a tourist discovered a decapitated body in a car that turned out to be a Peugeot registered in Cher. According to our colleagues, the body had been at the scene for several days. According to the latter, the tourist decided to take a walk in the woods near Chez Rabier, not far from the D674, on Sunday morning. Curious about the parked vehicle with one door open, the pedestrian returned to the scene late in the afternoon and approached the car. He smelled a sickening stench and was confronted with a horrific scene. The police responded quickly to the incident.
Man found decapitated on foot, reportedly committed suicide
At the scene of the gruesome discovery, officers noticed a belt tied to a tree, which was tightened around the victim’s neck.
After the man’s body was taken to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Poitiers, an autopsy was needed to determine the exact cause of death. When contacted by our colleagues, the mayor of Montbouyère, Muriel Enick, confirmed that she had been informed of the events “by the police, but refused to say anything.”
However, according to the latest information published on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, by Charente-Libre, “the Angouleme prosecutor’s office received the results of the autopsy on Tuesday, which confirm that the man found did indeed commit suicide.”
