When it comes to comfort cuisine, there’s no place better than the South. No one can possibly dispute my choice of fried chicken, green bean casserole, cornbread, and mac n’ cheese. Just one more fantastic item that originates in the South? All of their sweets. That includes the recipe we’re going to provide you.
The irresistible fudge pie recipe was just published by Southern Living, the undisputed authority on all things Southern (Cooking Channel TV/Matt Armendariz). This pie has all the hallmarks of a traditional fudge pie: it’s sugary, rich, and very gooey.
Southern Living by Iain Bagwell is the source.
Even while I’d never call myself an expert pie maker, it seems like that’s really beside the point. If you’d rather not make your own pie crust, all you have to do is grab a frozen piecrust shell; we won’t judge.
If you’re looking for a delicious dessert to make for the holidays, a potluck, a hostess gift, or even “just because,” this is the recipe for you. You won’t need any special ingredients, and it’s easy to create. Add a dollop of whipped cream or vanilla ice cream on top, and I’ll wager you’ll think you’ve died and gone to paradise.
