“In 2002, I was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor. I was immediately admitted to BLD Sofia for surgery. The tumor was 5×5 cm, but the surgery was successful. I consider the neurosurgeons at this hospital to be the best in Bulgaria.

After two years, the results showed that the tumor had recurred (metastasized) and was almost the same size again. I had to undergo a second operation, but the operation went badly and I was left paralyzed in my left hand and leg. After examining the tumor, the doctors declared it atypical.

Then I went back to the oncologist and had to undergo radiotherapy sessions, which were ineffective because the tumor relapsed again, requiring another operation. Then I went to the rehabilitation ward and there I was lucky enough to meet a man who changed my life. He confessed to me that he had kidney cancer. After the operation failed, he was given three to four months to live.

Then he met a woman who told him about a plant and how to prepare it for treatment. The plant called elderberry is a shrub that grows… in deserts, along rivers and country roads, and in forests. Elderberries look like blueberries and are about the same size. They can be picked in late August or early September.

Homemade recipe:

The fruits must be fully ripe to have medicinal properties.

Wash the elderberry and place it in a jar, alternating a layer of elderberry and a layer of granulated sugar, and fill the jar to the top.

Store in a sunny place to ferment.

After 2 weeks, place the jar in the refrigerator.

You can make 2, 3 or 4 jars, but at least 2 are needed for the whole year.

Take one teaspoon every morning on an empty stomach, 10 minutes before meals.

You can take elderberry while taking medication, as it is a beneficial herb for the immune system and many other diseases. Elderberries must be ripe, and if you have some that are green or don’t look ripe, it is best not to use them. The fruit should be tender and dark in color, almost black. At the beginning of treatment, make sure you have a toilet nearby, because about half an hour after consuming them, you may need to go frequently.

Healthy people can also consume elderberry if they simply want to strengthen their immune system. It is a good remedy against the flu, for example.

Be sure to only consume fermented elderberries, as their purgative effect is too strong when uncooked. Also, be careful not to pick the yellow elderberry, whose fruit is poisonous. It turns its berries towards the sky, while the black elderberry turns its fruit towards the ground.
