Ingredients (for 4 buns)
4 hamburger buns or soft buns of your choice
100 g of ham (cooked or raw as desired)
1 small cucumber (optional, preferably pickled)
1 tomato
100 g of cheese (Emmental, mozzarella, cheddar, to taste)
2 eggs
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon mayonnaise or crème fraîche
A little ketchup
Extra grated cheese for gratin (optional)
Method
Prepare the vegetables
Wash and slice the tomato and cucumber into thin slices.
Beat the eggs
In a bowl, beat the eggs with salt, pepper, and mayonnaise (or crème fraîche) until smooth.
Prepare the sandwiches
Cut the sandwiches in half (without going all the way through) and spread a thin layer of ketchup on the inside.
Filling:
Fill each bun with the ham slices, tomato, cucumber, and sliced cheese, and pour a little of the egg mixture into each bun.
If desired, sprinkle grated cheese on top for a cheesy, gratinated effect.
Baking:
Place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 15 minutes.
If you want an even golden brown surface, grill for another 2-3 minutes.
