Having a house full of plants is a real obsession for many of us, but keeping them healthy and thriving is quite a challenge. To successfully care for your plants and make them bloom profusely, we’ll explain how to prepare “enriched” irrigation water .
It can happen that our plants stop growing or show signs of distress, such as yellowing leaves or a generally weak appearance. Fortunately, there are natural ingredients whose nutrients, like vitamins and minerals, can help us revive our plants.
Each plant has different watering needs: some adapt to fairly long dry periods, while others need constantly moist soil. However, all plants need nutrients.
Although all kinds of fertilizers are available on the market, including liquid ones, one way to feed our plants on a daily basis is through irrigation water . Below we explain how to enrich it with nutrients .
You need:
- banana peels
- water from cooking vegetables, pasta, or eggs (without salt, sugar, or other seasonings)
- airtight container
After cooking the food (pasta, vegetables or eggs), drain and save the water and let it cool.
In the airtight container, pour the cooking water and add the banana peels cut into pieces, then close the container.
You can keep it tightly sealed for two days, after which you will need to discard it to prevent the liquid from stagnating.
Dilute with pure water and use the liquid to water your plants at least once a week.
The water used to cook pasta, vegetables, or eggs contains nutrients that are very beneficial for plants. The potassium released from banana peels will give our plants an extra boost during flowering.
