As always, we stopped by our usual supermarket, the one where we get almost everything for home. It’s a reliable place, the produce is always fresh, and there’s never been any cause for concern. 🤔This time, we grabbed a dozen eggs—nothing suggested trouble was coming. At home, getting ready to make breakfast, I cracked a couple, and suddenly something inside caught my eye, something completely wrong.
There were small, translucent, slimy clumps, reminiscent of some kind of mucus. 🤢My stomach twisted—my first thought was: could these really be some kind of parasites or bugs right in the egg?! 😱But then I decided not to panic and went online to figure out what they were, and what I learned left me speechless. How lucky I was to notice it in time and we didn’t have time to eat it all! 😬I’ll tell you what it was now, so be on the lookout! 👇Read more in the first comment.👇👇
I found tiny, slimy balls in an egg and at first thought they were insect larvae, but then I learned the horrific truth. Published: June 30, 2025 Category: NEWS Author: Editor As usual, we stopped by our usual supermarket today, where we always do our family shopping. The store is reliable, the products are always fresh, and we’ve never had any problems before.
This time, we bought a dozen eggs, and nothing seemed to indicate trouble. At home, when I started making breakfast, I cracked a couple of them and suddenly noticed something strange inside. Small, slimy lumps, reminiscent of scraps of mucus. I shuddered – I immediately wondered if the egg was infested with larvae or some kind of insects. But then I decided to look it up online and was shocked. It’s good that I noticed it in time, and we didn’t have time to eat them. I’ll explain what it is, so please be more careful. Continued in the first comment. It was disgusting to even look at, let alone eat.
My husband suggested we go to the store immediately and demand a refund, but I decided to first find out if anyone else had experienced something similar. We went online, started reading reviews and advice. And here’s what we found out: it turned out to be calcium deposits, which are essentially what the eggshell is made of. They sometimes form inside the egg due to the hens’ diet or some other malfunction in their body. It looks disgusting, but completely harmless unless there’s an infection. Honestly, it didn’t make things any easier—it’s still unpleasant to eat. But at least it became clear that these weren’t parasites or some kind of mortal danger. Now we’ve decided to check the eggs more thoroughly before buying and will probably change brands. Even if it’s safe, such findings certainly don’t improve your appetite.
