We live in a fairly quiet neighborhood where nothing out of the ordinary usually happens. But last week, all the neighbors were absolutely shocked. One of our neighbors, while walking her dog, noticed strange clusters of small black eggs in the yard. They looked like shiny beads stuck together in a heap, and immediately gave everyone a bad feeling. At first, we thought they were something harmless – maybe seeds, trash, or insect eggs. But the longer we looked, the more dangerous we became: the eggs were too dense, had a strange sheen, and were located right next to the lawn, where children often play and pets run. One of the neighbors called an exterminator.

After examining the find, he made a spine-tingling diagnosis: they were tick eggs. The expert explained that ticks are more than just unpleasant parasites. They carry dangerous diseases, including Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain spotted fever. The larvae that hatch from these eggs can quickly find hosts among pets or people. We were told that tick eggs are usually very small, about 0.5 mm, and resemble poppy seeds. They often hide in grass, under leaves, or even in piles of old firewood.

That’s why the discovery of such eggs should not be ignored. To get rid of them, the specialist recommended the following measures: ✅Remove all leaves and debris around the area where the eggs were found. ✅Consult a veterinarian about treating pets. ✅Plant tick-repellent plants, such as rosemary, chrysanthemums, or mint. ✅Keep the lawn neat and trimmed. ✅Move woodpiles away from the house to prevent ticks from hiding there.
