The smell of apples was so strong that I had to get the recipe: Grandma’s Apple Pie

Ingredients

 3 eggs

 150 g sugar

100 g butter (melted)

 150 ml of milk

grated zest of 1 lemon + 1 tablespoon juice

 250 g wheat flour

 1 teaspoon baking powder

2-3 apples (e.g., gray rennet, ligol, jonagold)

 Powdered sugar for sprinkling

 Optional: cinnamon to taste

Cooking method:

Beat the eggs with sugar until fluffy.

Add melted butter, milk, lemon zest and juice – mix.

Add the sifted flour and baking powder and mix gently until smooth.

Peel the apples, cut them in half and cut into thin slices – arrange them radially on the dough in a springform pan lined with parchment paper.

Bake at 180°C for 40–45 minutes, until the apple pie is a beautiful golden brown.

Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve while still warm!
