Almost every home has ceramic tiles in the bathroom and kitchen, both on the walls and on the floor.

The tiles themselves can last for many years, are easy to maintain, and rarely deteriorate over time. If properly cared for, they will remain as good as new. However, grout can get dirty fairly quickly, especially if it’s light-colored.

The most problematic areas are around the sink, bathtub, stove, and on the floor. There are many options for cleaning grout. The easiest way to do this is with a toothbrush, a clothes brush, or a melamine sponge.

Here are the most effective ways to clean tile grout: A baking soda solution. Add 3 tablespoons of baking soda to 500 ml of water and stir. Wet the grout with the solution, then scrub with a toothbrush.

Lemon. Cut a slice and rub it into the grout. Leave it for 15-20 minutes to allow the lemon juice to soften the dirt and grease. Then wipe it off with a sponge or brush.

Baking soda and vinegar paste. Soak the stubborn grease with the baking soda paste. Then spray vinegar on top.

A reaction will occur, then wipe the affected areas with a sponge or cloth. This method can also be used to keep your tiles shiny.

Bleach. Wet a sponge with it and wipe the grout. It will whiten them in a few minutes and also kill the mold.

Fine sandpaper. Bend a small piece and lightly sand the grout, being careful not to touch the tiles.

Of course, you can still use store-bought cleaning products.

After you’ve cleaned everything, let the seams dry, and then reinforce your efforts. I recently learned this life hack from a friend, which will help keep the seams clean for a long time.

Rub the clean grout with a paraffin candle. The wax will seal and polish any problem areas. This trick will also help prevent mold.

If you want to refresh the color of the grout, you can color it with a nitro-based paint marker before applying wax. These can be purchased at a regular office supply store and come in a variety of colors.

If the grout is really bad, carefully go over it with a special putty knife, which you can buy at a hardware store. Try removing the old grout and then apply fresh grout.
