Ingredients:
8.8 ounces thin, breaded steak (You can use thinly sliced beef steak or schnitzel)
2 ½ tablespoons oil (vegetable oil or olive oil)
3 ball sticks (It’s not clear what “ball sticks” refers to, could you please provide clarification?)
½ cup sliced onions
3 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
Instructions:
Prepare the Steak:
If using breaded steak, you can purchase it pre-made or prepare it by coating thin slices of beef with breadcrumbs seasoned with salt and pepper.
If using plain thin steak, season it with salt and pepper on both sides.
Fry the Steak:
Heat 1 ½ tablespoons of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Once the oil is hot, add the breaded steak or plain steak slices to the skillet.
Cook the steak for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
Remove the cooked steak from the skillet and set it aside.
Prepare the Fried Onions:
In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil.
Add the sliced onions and garlic to the skillet.
Cook, stirring occasionally, until the onions are caramelized and golden brown, about 8-10 minutes.
Assemble the Casserole:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
If you have a casserole dish, transfer the cooked onions and garlic to the bottom of the dish.
Layer the cooked steak over the onions and garlic in the casserole dish.
If necessary, you can cut the steak into smaller pieces to fit the dish.
Bake the Casserole:
Cover the casserole dish with aluminum foil.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the flavors meld together and the steak is heated through.
Serve:
Once the casserole is done baking, remove it from the oven.
Serve the meat casserole with fried onions hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
This meat casserole with fried onions is sure to be a hit with its delicious taste, color, and aroma!
