Ingredients:
3.5 pounds / 1.5 kg potatoes, thinly sliced
1 clove garlic, minced
2 tbsp melted unsalted butter
2 cups / 470 ml heavy cream
1/2 cup / 60g grated Parmesan or Gruyère cheese
Salt and black pepper to taste
1 tsp dried thyme
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a small bowl, mix the garlic, melted butter, heavy cream, grated cheese, salt, black pepper, thyme, and nutmeg.
Layer the thinly sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish, pouring the cream mixture over each layer.
Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour.
Remove the foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the potatoes are tender.
Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
